Meet Darrick L. Bell, School Psychologist & Educational Consultant

Helping Students, Families, and Schools Navigate Education with Confidence and Clarity

For more than 20 years, I have dedicated my career to helping students, families, educators, and schools navigate complex educational decisions with confidence, compassion, and clarity.

As a certified school psychologist, former director of special education, and educational consultant, I understand that every child is unique and that no two educational journeys are the same. My goal is to help families better understand evaluations, special education services, IEPs, Section 504 Plans, and school-based supports so they can make informed decisions with confidence.

Through Bell Educational Consulting and Mentoring Services, LLC, I provide personalized educational consultation grounded in evidence-based practice, extensive professional experience, and a collaborative approach. Whether you’re preparing for an IEP meeting, reviewing a psychological evaluation, or seeking guidance about your child’s educational needs, I am committed to providing practical recommendations in clear, understandable language.

I believe every family deserves an experienced professional who will listen carefully, explain complex information clearly, and advocate for solutions that place the student’s best interest first.

My Philosophy

I believe every student has strengths, every family deserves to be heard, and every educational decision should be guided by compassion, collaboration, objective information, and evidence informed practice. Students should not be defined solely by a diagnosis, disability, test score, or area of difficulty. Effective educational planning begins by understanding the whole student, identifying barriers to success, and recognizing the strengths that can support meaningful growth.

Families, educators, students, and multidisciplinary professionals should have access to the information they need to participate meaningfully in educational decisions. My role is not simply to provide answers or tell families what to do. It is to listen carefully, explain complex evaluations and educational information in understandable language, help families ask informed questions, and develop practical next steps that place the student’s needs and best interests first.

More than two decades of experience in school psychology, special education leadership, educational consultation, multidisciplinary decision making, and student support have taught me that lasting progress is built through respectful partnership. I am committed to helping families and schools move beyond labels and uncertainty toward greater understanding, stronger collaboration, informed decision making, increased independence, and long term student success.
